Why do I need a website?
Over 70 percent of consumers begin their search online for products or services! Having a website almost seems to be a necessity now. Whether you're strictly local or a world-wide corporation, your competition is fierce. Having a website shows that you are committed to your business and are competitive. A website can be an inexpensive form of advertising, providing a wealth of information to your customers at a moment's notice, and can be easily changed or updated without the turn-around time of print-production. You can start out with a small website and let it grow with your business.

What is a domain name (URL)?
This is the address people will use to access your website (www.YourCompanyName.com). Once you have decided the domain name you'd like for your website to have, it will need to be registered. I can help you with this. The cost to register a domain name is normally around $8-$35 per year and needs to be renewed yearly in most cases.

What is website hosting?
"Hosting" essentially means you rent space on a computer (server) that is always connected to the internet. The price of this varies depending on how much "space" you rent. For a small business website, it can run approximately $50-$100 per year. You can purchase hosting space on your own, or I can upload your site to my server and include the price in your website design package.

How much does it cost?
There are many factors that can affect the cost of your website: number of pages, complexity of your design, and if you sell products online. After speaking with you regarding your needs in a website, I will provide you a written estimate of the cost of your proposed website.

What content should I put on my website?
Who is your target audience? What are the goals of your website? What questions to customers ask you most? Content can include product and/or service information, a portfolio, articles, menus (restaurants), news, testimonials, an online ordering system and of course, how to find you.

How long does it take?
This is determined by the size and complexity of your site and current websites that I have in progress. I will let you know the estimated time frame for completion of your website.

OK, I'm ready to get my website. Where do we start?
Once I speak with you regarding your needs in a website, there are four steps to the process: domain name registration, designing the website, uploading the site to a server (hosting company) and marketing your website. You can also view a flowchart of the process by clicking here.
